Pool Party!

It feels like Summer!  Last year, it seemed like we missed the entire summer with cool temperatures.
The girls like their bath time, so I thought it was high-time for a pool party.  We waited until Jon got home just in case they both started screaming or something.
I am so glad we waited until Jon got home because I probably never would have dreamed of...

Splashing water on their faces, but...
They liked it!

I kept saying, "Jon?" in my warning, questioning voice.
Spurred on by his success, I am sure I also would have not...
put my head under water and come up with a mouthful of water to spray on the girls, but...
they couldn't get enough.

I am sure I also would have thought they were way too young to...
play bumper Bumbos or have them create a whirpool effect or...
or teach them how to kick! But...
They LOVED it.

Good thing we waited for daddy to get home for our pool party because...
the pool party would have been so boring with just careful ole' Mama!

***WARNING***
If you get the idea from this post that Bumbos are a safe way to let kids play in the water, it actually is a little precarious as they kind of float and aren't super stable.

How fun!!!!!!!! So adorable and funny! Jon knows just how to have fun with them, glad the girls enjoyed the sprays! Hoping you have many more of those hot summer days because it looks like it those pool parties will create many happy, jolly days! Amy, might want to keep a big pitcher filled with water nearby so you dont have to duck your head into the pool to get a mouthfull of water. hee.

Blessings... Heidi C.

Hey.. Just read your May 21st post re: attachment, etc... Not that I have great advice, but Avo did significantly improve in all of this after about 3-4 months.. I hope the same is true for you. It is difficult. In the end I attributed it to the difficulty of adjustment. I am a somewhat militant mother though and expect at least a one to one and a half hour nap so I would let him hang out just to teach him it is not time to get up yet. I did compromise at night with the CIO for three-four months (until 8 mos of age and still and dealing with it a bit) due to my feeling that he was not handling it well. I would just set a date to look forward to like two-four weeks later and hope that by that time I could re-evaluate and make another decision regarding it. Sometimes I just needed someone to say I am sorry and it is difficult while they understood how thankful I was for such a beautiful child inside and out. Love, J

Isn't God's design for the family AWESOME! We need BOTH parents, both perspectives on life because we are so different. I'm glad you waited for daddy too.
