Our Homecoming

We went to church today.  We were shooting for morning and afternoon service.  We both heard about 6% of the morning sermon. Sigh...They are making lots of progress in crowds though! However, because they missed their morning naps, we couldn't quite catch up and they had one of the fussier afternoons/evenings that we have had in awhile.  Last week, Adia had a few days when she stranged from me a little.  I thought that was endearing, but difficult with two babies. I praised the Lord for the attachment.  Jada has hit stranging with a vengeance. It isn't enough to be in the same room as me, she needs held and intense eye contact.  I hope she can sleep this off!

Our Arrival
Finally, I am posting about our arrival to Ft. Wayne!  We landed on April 24th and were met by family.  It was 3:00 am Ethiopia time when we landed and we had missed a night of sleep somewhere over the ocean with two fussy babies...

Our friend, Whitney, took pictures for us and she is in a HS Photoshop class, so we were the beneficiaries of her editing!   Our cousin, Tiff, took video of the whole event.

Preparing for our arrival...

Dad G. with his grandkids and Jada and Adia's cousins

We heard cheering before we could even see anyone.  Jada was awake (in Jon's carrier in the gray) but Adia was dead asleep.  They were greeted with much love and many camera flashes!
Walking through the doors to see a very welcome sight, family waiting to meet us and our babies!

My sister, Kristen, or "Aunt Kris" as you may know her, came to spend the night with us because we were EXHAUSTED.

We got home about 9:00pm IN time and started to unload.  Our neighbor appeared out of the dark and helped us unload, not saying a word.  We thanked him and he just quietly unloaded.  When everything was in the house, I witnessed a beautiful moment, I bent to take Jada out of her carseat and heard our normally "tough guy" neighbor rustling with the other carseat buckles. I look over as he gently lifted Adia out of the carseat, gazing at her and he kept saying, "Welcome to your life baby, welcome to your life".
