Pressed Down, Shaken Together, Running Over Into Your Lap

Think back to your wedding shower, baby shower or graduation party.  Do you know that humbled feeling you had as you opened up the cards, unwrapped the presents and tallied the total?  Each of these events, I swallowed a lump in my throat, felt uncomfortable and some disbelief at so much support. As we journey down the path of support raising, it is the same feeling only on an exponentially grander scale as daily we are encouraged through the support we are receiving, emotionally, prayerfully and financially.

The lunch stand on Monday followed this pattern.  As people carved time from their busy schedules to show their support, we were are humbled.

We know this is not about us but rather, we are blessed with front row seats to witness His Church responding to the Great Commission that all may hear of Jesus.

(I took a few photos at the very beginning of the lunch stand and then didn’t think of the camera again!)

It’s overwhelming to be so in need. I can freeze and think, “we will never be able to pay this back!” However, I am reminded, that’s not the point.  The givers are giving to God and He promises many blessings to people generous with their resources. And so we pray. We pray through scriptures, asking God to bring blessing to His people.

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Luke 6:38

Definitely know that feeling. Can't imagine it on this level!
