AK Post #7: News!

We received an email today! Jon and Amy have their girls and they passed at the embassy! Hooray!! The only thing left to do is fly home on Friday and Saturday and hope that flights through Europe are running smoothly.

Amy says the girls are "incredible." It sounds like they are having a good time now with the girls and the other families that are at the care center to bring home their own children.

The first day and night was ROUGH (she wrote it in all caps). Apparently, there were lots of fussing and little sleeping. Adia woke up 13 times the first night and would scream until someone picked her up. Yikes. The second day, they switched back to the Ethiopian formula for the girls (instead of the kind they brought with them from the states) and after that they took a 3 hour nap and woke up "different" girls. Praise the Lord! ;) She said they may bring a suitcase of that home with them. I'm not sure if that was a joke or not, but if they were my children, it would be no joke! :)

Oh, and apparently they were spoiled. When they visited the care center the next day, they found out that there were 5 caretakers for 6 babies and Jada even slept on a caretaker's legs every night. At least they weren't starved for attention!

Amy also described the girls as beautiful, full of smiles, both take a pacifier, and they look a lot alike! Much more to come on that in the future, I'm sure.

Please pray for the 3 families that did not make it through their embassy appointment, as they are facing a lot of disappointment, frustration and hassle over how to proceed from here. I hope that Jessica's family, Scott and Heidi are not ones in this group!

I'll post again in the next day or so and maybe I'll have more news...

Thanks for the great news!

Looks like they're going to have their work cut out for them in "un"-spoiling these girls, but I'd say that is a MAJOR blessing they had such amazing caretakers!

Great update Aunt Kris...
