ONE WEEK!

For anyone interested, here are our trip details.

We are flying on a German airline, Lufthansa.

We leave from Ft. Wayne at 9:10 am on Tuesday, April 13th.  We arrive in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at 6:45 pm on Wednesday April 14th.  (Yes, that is two days in travel, there is a 9 hour time change).

On the way home, we leave Addis Ababa at 11:35 on Friday, April 23rd and land in Ft. Wayne at 7:10 pm on April 24th.

Our longest flight is from Frankfurt, Germany to Chicago, Illinois.  9+ hours.

I was talking with Jane at church and told her that I feel really overwhelmed with bringing two babies home  on a 27+ hr plane trip.

She laughed and said, "Amy, this is your labor".    Wow, good perspective, 27 hours of not-super-painful labor for 13+ pound twins.  I'll take it!  So, lucky Jon, he gets to take part.  ;)

We'll be praying through your journey - and what a great thought about the trip being your "labor!" We can't wait to see the photos of you two holding your precious girls!

Hi Amy, My name is Sasha and we adopted through IAG in Jan. We flew Lufthansa also. It was Great! The only thing is that we had some trouble on our return flight. We were told we did not need a transit Visa for our daughter, to pass through Germany. Then when we were all set to leave the woman at the ticket counter would not let us board the plan with out one. In the end she had a change of heart, but she was NOT happy!

Maybe you already got your transit visa's for the girls :)

I am so excited for you and your beautiful daughters!!

Don't worry all things come to an end at some point, even 27 hour flights ;) Try to get a bassinet on the bulkhead if you can. It was a lifesaver for us!

What a great way to look at the flight back--labor! I have confidence that if anyone can do it, it's you two. Sending much love--wish I could be there to help out and just hug you!
