Kinky Curly

The Littles have more hair product than I have…Maybe more than I have ever had…That is because for my stick-straight-haired self to learn curly hair, it has been a process!

Finally, we have a product love, Kinky Curly Curling Custard is amazing! I should probably someday do product reviews on the MANY products we have tried.  :)

Oh, and Kinky Curly’s “Knot Today” detangler has made bath-time so much better!

Having stick straight hair, I have had lots to learn in dealing with curly hair.

Curly hair is so much longer than it looks!

Having their hair touched is not The Littles idea of a good time.

So, on a morning when their delicious curls are going to take a minute, we plop down and watch something on disneychannel.com and they tolerate Mama’s intrusion.

Have you taken her to a black salon in FW? I used to teach in the inner city and the students all suggested that I go to their hair dresser since I have such curly hair (it's white girl's curls which are very different from the black curly hair). They may give you some real insight.

We have loved Kinky Curly products. My girls hair is a bit different then your girls' but Kindy Curly is awesome (I've used it on my hair too) Our favorite product from Kinky Curly is the leave in detangler. Hands Down. And the tip they give "Don't wash it often but use conditioner always". So most of the time we use only the conditioner/leave in detangler. Their hair is waist long now....but hidden in lots of curls.

Ok, I agree. We are dealing with Selah's hair a little more now and would love more suggestions for products you use. Where did you buy yours at? Also, would love the ones you suggest DO NOT work :) I am sure this discussion could go on forever.

Have you tried Blended Beauty? I LOVE the Curly Cake Shake and others. If so, I'd love to hear how it compares to Kinky Curly. I haven't tried that yet.

Amy, I met a friend for lunch who has a 10 year old with hair just like your girls. She does the braids and the dred-locks and everything. She told me she's going to school so she can officially do hair specifically for african american hair. She does it for her friends right now on the side. Get in touch with her if you have any questions. She'll be ready for clients hopefully by summer if all goes well. Her name is Susan and you can reach her at: sbowden7@frontier.com.

Have fun! Anna

Wow! Their hair is getting so long! You do such a nice job taking care of it Amy! All the research, effort, and time you put into it just further shows how blessed those two are to have a mom like you!

PLEASE tell me how you use the Curly Custard. I agree about the Knot Today detangler. But we tried the curling custard and it left my daughter's hair crunchy. And didn't seem to create any amazing curl. If you could pretty please come over to my blog and leave a comment about Curling Custard I'd so appreciate it. :)
