Last night we received the e-mail with updated weights and measurements on Adia and Jada! They are growing! We praise God for their growth, each gained about one more pound in 2+ weeks.
Head Weight Height
1. Jada G. 36 cm 6.1 lb 46 cm
2. Adia M. 35 cm 7.01 lb 46 cm
As thankful as we are, I quickly had a different reaction. "Babies, wait for me! You can't grow without me!" We wish we could have been the ones to watch them gain. An adoptive mother warned me that you get so excited for any news on the children, but then cry that they are growng without you. Oh the emotions of a woman! I warned Jon that I am going to have 9 months of emotion packed into four. I know he is looking forward to it. :)
Pronunciations:
I know there is a little confusion on how to say the girls' names, so here is a more phonetic spelling:
Adia (add-ee-ah)
Jada (Jay-dah)

Yay!!! I'm so excited. Sounds like they will be huge by the time you get them. I do love chubby babies. :)
Hang in there, Ames!
I love the name Jada! I will have to say that I like Adia better now that I know how to say it:) I was saying A-da. Which is a little too close to Jada. Great names you picked.
My vote for dressing the girls: I bet you will do all those choices. It's cute to see twins dressed the same but you may not want to do it all the time. Especially when they start to develop a personality and you start dressing them to match their personality. Either way...it is fun to dress girls:)
I am so so excited for you guys and perhaps just a bit jealous too :) I have always wanted to adopt internationally...Maybe someday. Anyway...love the names names alone just don't cut it. I can't wait to see pics...better yet, smooch them on their little cheeks :) Amy, though I haven't experienced adoptive motherhood I think I can imagine a little bit the quandry you are in right now. I hope and pray that things continue to go smoothly so that your girls come home to you soon. One thing I have to say though...you at least won't have the post-partum hormone upset. That is THE WORST! So, chalk one up for adoption.
Little Eric weighed in at 7lb 2oz, so if you stop in and see him you will get a good idea of how big your little girls are. Although I am guessing that Eric's feet and hands are a little bigger than theirs would be. Love you lots and we're thankful for every bit of good news. Praise God!
I am thrilled to have found your blog! Anyway, I am thankful to be able to follow your journey in this fashion! I know I mentioned on FB, but congratulations again! We are so excited for you both! Also, love, love, love the names you have picked out for your girls. We LOVE girls at our house, so are extra thrilled for you :) BTW, did I mention how much we love their names ?! :)
