They're so beautiful. These sweet young girls. Boys are the prized children here. Girls, not so much.
They smile shyly under the loads of babies strapped on their backs, firewood to be hauled, clothes to wash, water to haul, animals to be tended and injera to make for the family.
Right now, I can only smile, give them hugs and air cheek kisses. Oh, that they could know Jesus. To know their value in His eyes, as daughters of The King.
Lordwilling, Jon leaves early tomorrow morning, driving to Bahir Dar for a flight to Addis Ababa. The Littles and I will hold down the fort. :) Prayers for Jon's safety in travels are appreciated and for The Littles and I. We also haven't had any phone/cell service the past three days. I have already told God how helpful this would be when Jon is gone. :)

Ethiopia accepted Christianity in the 4th century. Yes, this children are Orthodox Christians and they know Christ. Egypt, the Ottomans and the Mehadists tried to concur and Islamize Ethiopia but they failed. We have paid the price to keep Christianity in Ethiopia. Please learn about Ethiopia and Christianity.
