We safely arrived in Ethiopia on Friday afternoon and
breathed big sighs of relief when our luggage appeared on the belt!
Having a
grandma around has been invaluable and loads of fun!
Our family of four had a rough first night in Ethiopia, in
part due to jetlag, in part due to two little girls who wet their pillows with
tears and whimpered pleas to go “home”. Jon and I strongly felt the presence
and assurance of God as we sat on the bed in the middle of the night, holding The Littles close, rehearsing His faithfulness to them and to ourselves. We
spent time worshipping our great God who has faithfully led us to Ethiopia. We
are also thankful kids are resilient. :)

Thanks for your outpouring of love, support, encouragement
and prayers.
Praising God for allowing us to be an extension of you among
the Awi people.

I am so thankful that God has continued to reassure you. I think the hardest part for me right now is knowing that the girls are struggling, so I can't imagine how difficult it could be for you. I keep reminding myself too that "kids are resilient."
So good to connect with you this morning!
I am amazed at how expressive your girls are and have always been. It seems like that ability to name their emotions will help with this transition greatly. Love you guys!

Praise God for your safe arrival (along with your luggage!) Praying for the transition for you and for your littles.
