This Father's Day-Holy Ground

It’s Father’s Day.

I’ve written several posts the last few days but nothing can touch the experience we had in Mekele.

Journeying down uncharted waters left us both anxious but so ready for this meeting.

Then it came and I watched with butterflies in my stomach as one father to another, embraced and both choked out words that echoed.

English and Tigrinya mixed as the words mirrored one message.

"Thank you for what you’ve done. Thank you for giving my girls life. May God bless you for this gift, this sacrifice."

This Father’s Day, I think of two amazing fathers, finally united, thanking each other with smiles through teary eyes.

I will just echo all these comments. Also, the smiling men on the side of the photo speak volumes.

who knew going across the seas and keeping up with this blog would minister to our hearts in ways you cant fathom. But God can do those BIG things through your willingness to be used. What a special Father's day. Brings me to tears... love the smiles on the other men as well. Special day, indeed. Love you all!

So touching...reminds me so much of my embrace with S's birth mother. I am so thankful God gave you this opportunity.
